The Institute of State and Law of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Law of the West Bohemian University are holding, on 6 and 7 June 2018, an international conference of the V4 countries at the premises of Loucký Monastery in Znojmo. The Metamorphoses of Law is a long-term cooperation platform for lawyers from the V4 countries, established in 2008 on the initiative of the institutions referred to above and, since then, taking place every two years in the presence of 60-100 professionals.
Although the main organizers are law theory workers, the cooperation is not restricted only to theoretical approaches but is attended by representatives of all legal domains in the sphere of research and legal practice, as well as by specialists in related domains (philosophy, political science, linguistics, sociology, legal informatics, etc.).
Within the Metamorphoses, workshops, discussions and projects are organized with the aim to critically describe the condition of the legislation and the application of the law in the V4 countries as a solution to searching for practical measures for supressing negative trends. This year, the main theme is focusing on the functions of public administration and the EU influence on the labour law, the legislation, the constitutional judiciary, the electronic teaching of law, and issues associated with the 1918 anniversaries.
Alongside a general compendium of contributions from the conference, separate monographs devoted to public administration and the electronic teaching of law are going to be prepared within the Metamorphoses.
Languages of the discussion: Czech, Slovak, Polish and English
